Capture your Screen with the Windows Snipping Tool

Windows Snipping Tool can capture nearly anything on the screen. It gives you the ability to capture a specific area of the screen and also freehand that is you are allowed to draw the area where you would  want to capture. In the windows preinstalled software Snipping Tool is hidden meaning it is not shown as shortcut on the desktop and it can be difficult to find in the program list unless you do a search.

A way to launch Snipping Tool is to press Window key + R and type snippingtool.exe or on the search program list type snipping tool as shown in the image below. To make it easier to find and if you would want to use this tool on regular basis right click on it and choose Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar. This will create a shortcut which will make you easier to launch.
On the New button click on the Down Arrow to open Options which will give you different ways to grab the screenshots. You may choose a Rectangular Snip, Free-form Snip etc. Choose which you like and then start capture by dragging on the screen where you want to capture.
Just after you released your hand, Snipping Tool program will be launched, showing your captured Screenshot you may then save it as JPG or any other image format.
